Q:How would a multi trip policy cover a Caribbean cruise with destination includes USA and outside of USA.

A:
Plans are designed to cover you outside of your home country, so if your home country is the US, you would not have coverage while in the US. Please call our office at 1(866)467-8289 for assistance in choosing a plan.

Q:My father-in-law is a drinker and a smoker, who will be visiting the USA from China. He does not get annual physicals, and has not needed to ever see a doctor, therefore I cannot be sure how healthy he is. He has never had a stroke or heart attack, and is aged 63. I plan on having a doctor in China, examine him and I expect he will be certified as fit for travel. If he is certified as fit to travel, and he were to have a serious stroke or heart attack, can I be sure this would be covered up to the policy maximum of 250,000, or would the coverage potentially be limited to 25,000 if a doctor in the USA renders an opinion that my father-in-law suffered the stroke or heart attack due to a pre-existing condition?

A:
Coverage is always going to be determined based of the doctors notes and medical records from the event. We are unable to advise on how the plan will pay based off a future scenario, as we do not have access to the medical record. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I live in the USA and am going on a one-month trip to various European countries. I have already booked non-refundable flights, car rentals, and hotel reservations. Would trip cancellation insurance provide a refund if I miss my flight and cannot check into my hotel due to valid reasons?

A:
If you miss your flight and it causes a delay on your trip, and it is due to a covered cancellation reason, you may be eligible for reimbursement. To understand what is covered and not covered, it would be recommended to call our office at 1(866) 467-8289 to speak with a licensed agent for assistance.

Q:Hi I currently have health insurance in the US through my employer. I plan to study in Spain and will be unemployed in that period. I'll purchase private insurance for Spain. Please advise if I need health insurance in US also for this period when I'm not living in the US. If I return to US or need virtual assistance from doctors in the US, please clarify how to make sure any minimums needed by ACA are met.

A:
We do not offer ACA compliant health insurance so we are unable to advise on what may be required of you. It would be recommended to reach out to a tax specialist for that information. We do offer a plan that can cover a US citizen temporarily visiting the US call Patriot America Plus. This plan can offer coverage for any new injuries or illnesses that did not exist in the body before the effective date of the policy. It will not cover preventative care or routine maintenance of any kind, and it will not cover pre-existing conditions with the exception of the acute onset of pre-existing condition. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
